Special attention should be paid to available information on resistance to ciprofloxacin before commencing therapy.<br \/>\nConsideration should be given to official guidance on the appropriate use of antibacterial agents.<br \/>\nAdults<br \/>\n\u2022 Lower respiratory tract infections due to Gram-negative bacteria:<br \/>\n\u2013 exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease;<br \/>\n\u2013 broncho-pulmonary infections in cystic fibrosis or in bronchiectasis;<br \/>\n\u2013 pneumonia.<br \/>\n\u2022 Chronic suppurative otitis media.<br \/>\n\u2022 Acute exacerbation of chronic sinusitis especially if these are caused by Gram-negative bacteria.<br \/>\n\u2022 Urinary tract infections.<br \/>\n\u2022 Genital tract infections:<br \/>\n\u2013 gonococcal uretritis and cervicitis due to susceptible Neisseria gonorrhoeae<br \/>\n\u2013 epididymo-orchitis including cases due to susceptible Neisseria gonorrhoeae<br \/>\n\u2013 pelvic inflammatory disease including cases due to susceptible Neisseria gonorrhoeae<br \/>\n\u2022 Infections of the gastro-intestinal tract (e.g. travellers&#8217; diarrhoea)<br \/>\n\u2022 Intra-abdominal infections<br \/>\n\u2022 Infections of the skin and soft tissue caused by Gram-negative bacteria<br \/>\n\u2022 Malignant external otitis<br \/>\n\u2022 Infections of the bones and joints<br \/>\n\u2022 Prophylaxis of invasive infections due to Neisseria meningitidis<br \/>\n\u2022 Inhalation anthrax (post-exposure prophylaxis and curative treatment)<br \/>\nCiprofloxacin may be used in the management of neutropenic patients with fever that is suspected to be due to a bacterial infection.<br \/>\nChildren and adolescents<br \/>\n\u2022 Broncho-pulmonary infections in cystic fibrosis caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa.<br \/>\n\u2022 Complicated urinary tract infections and pyelonephritis.<br \/>\n\u2022 Inhalation anthrax (post-exposure prophylaxis and curative treatment).<br \/>\nCiprofloxacin may also be used to treat severe infections in children and adolescents when this is considered to be necessary.<br \/>\nTreatment with ciprofloxacin should be initiated only by physicians who are experienced in the treatment of cystic fibrosis and\/or severe infections in children and adolescents.<\/em><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":411,"template":"","meta":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/agc.ly\/gate\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/product\/410"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/agc.ly\/gate\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/product"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/agc.ly\/gate\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/product"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/agc.ly\/gate\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/411"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/agc.ly\/gate\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=410"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
